Flower Bears for Flower Girls

Oh my, here was a custom bear order that could reach down into the very depths of my girlyness. Dandi Creations hosted an auction in benefit of a breast cancer foundation and I volunteered a Jenny Bear for the cause. And Jenny Bear raised funds for the event. Tracy, the winner, contacted me as she needed a second bear. One of her daughters is getting married and her two granddaughters were to be flower girls. She wanted the bears as favors for the girls. A bear to celebrate a first wedding anniversary

A few weeks ago I received an email through the contact page asking me to create a special custom bear in celebration of a first wedding anniversary. The request was to create a chest patch on the bear that would show the occupational lives of the two people whose path had merged on August 18, 2014. She is a nurse and artist and he is a soldier. Making teddy bears is what I do, but it goes way beyond soft fabric, needle and thread. It goes beyond stuffing and mailing boxes. It is about people. It is that time of the year in the northern hemisphere! What time, you might ask? Graduation time.And what way to best remember formative years in our life that with a handmade teddy bear that also shows off the activities that we participated in and thrived at.This teddy bear was created for a graduate from a school in Pennsylvania that has red and black as their coloring. The young lady was active in track running and liked to play the clarinet. The bear was presented to her at her graduation ceremony and I was told that she loved it.
