A teddy bear with a birthmark

Posted by Monica Collins at

After I posted the pictures of the tatty teddy I had made, Lilianah's mom asked if I could make a bear with the port wine stain and surgery scar to resemble that of her daughter's as closely as possible.Lilianah has Sturge-Weber Syndrome which is a condition that has a characteristic birthmark and neurological abnormalities. I received a few different photos and so transferred the shape of the stain onto the teddy bear's face.   The joy that Lilianah experienced when seeing a teddy bear look alike can be seen very clearly in this picture her mom posted on my Facebook...

A girly teddy to go camping

Posted by Monica Collins at

Recently I received a request to make a girly teddy bear for a 4th birthday party. The theme - camping! So what does a girly bear look like that goes camping. Posted by Monica Collins at

About a week before Christmas, I was asked if I could make a black and yellow bear with a bumblebee as part of the design. This was indeed an intriguing request and I came to find out that this was in honor of little Gabrielle, who only graced her parents with a month of her time.  I had chatted with Gabrielle's mother on the TG Bears Facebook page, but it was her father that sent the email looking for me to create this special bear for him as a Christmas gift. We chatted back and forth about the design and...

A Casanova Bear for Carrie Underwood

Posted by Monica Collins at

Carrie Underwood celebrates her birthday in March. This year I got to make her a custom handmade teddy bear for her special day. So what sort of teddy bear does one make Carrie? Sure, a Casanova Bear! Casanova Bear is just as charming as one would expect, with his western look, but satin vest lining. Of course he has Carrie's name on his foot also.    And how else to make him personal than to make sure everyone knows that he is a Cowboy Casanova? What fun he was to make and I sure hope she loves him. Till next...
