A bear to celebrate a first wedding anniversary

A few weeks ago I received an email through the contact page asking me to create a special custom bear in celebration of a first wedding anniversary. The request was to create a chest patch on the bear that would show the occupational lives of the two people whose path had merged on August 18, 2014.

She is a nurse and artist and he is a soldier. Another aspect we needed to incorporate was an angel baby.

The careers were depicted with the medical caduceus crossed with a brush and the image of a soldier - both silhouettes. The center, showing the wedding bands and the heart with little baby feet, is done in color to show the common path. The bear also got a scarf and a logo on his foot that depicts a cause close to the couple's heart.

Kia was extremely pleased with the bear when he arrived and left a wonderful testimonial as well as shared him on her Instagram.

Last but not least... Our handmade anniversary bear and my girly Chocolate Cherri Bear from @tgbears!!! Monica worked with me to make sure they were everything I wanted and even included a cute little magnet and note to us with our bears! And yes, she HANDMADE these bears, sewed and jointed their limbs, and even designed the embroidered patches! I created one for a bestie who just had a baby, and it's an honor to work with Monica again. These are great heirlooms and really special.
